Notes from Members and Speakers
David & Jacqui Warren are Garden Club members who would like to invite groups to their garden this summer. Please see all the details below
Y Bwthyn, nr Llanover: Group Visits by arrangement
Why not come along this summer to our beautifully varied 1½ acre garden which provides the perfect place for you and your group to spend a few hours somewhere a little different. Home-made cake and tea are included of course. There's plenty to see around the garden and several places to sit a while and enjoy the views of the hills and countryside. See also the small house history and art exhibitions and browse the many plants for sale. Proceeds go to the National Garden Scheme nursing and health charities such as Macmillan, Marie Curie, Horatio's Garden and Parkinson's.
Previous visitors have included gardening groups, walkers, U3A groups and groups of friends and family. This year we’re also expecting some art/photography groups and perhaps some WI and church groups. Here are some of our visitor comments:
“Thank you for a lovely afternoon. Your garden is full of colour & lots of interesting plants, some unusual and some we recognised.”
“I hope all your visitors this summer appreciate your garden as much as we did. So much to see and everyone enjoyed the delicious teas too!”
As we don't offer general open days (unfortunately we don't have enough parking here), we are only open for occasional days during a limited period. Dates currently available (morning, afternoon, occasional evenings) are scattered across the five weeks between 22nd July and 12th August and between 21st and 30th August. The cost will be £10 per person, including a garden tour and time to stroll or sit and enjoy the views and refreshments.
You just need to book your date and time for a group visit, with a single group payment then due five days beforehand. With space for up to 12 cars, car-sharing groups of between 10 and 30 visitors are preferred.
For more information, please see https://findagarden.ngs.org.uk/garden/43074/y-bwthyn
For enquiries and to make a booking, just send us an email, either by reply to this one or ideally to our garden specific email address warrens.ybwthyn@gmail.com
We hope to see you this summer but in the meantime, happy gardening!
